Family day

We drove to Penang for this year's family holiday. I chose Hard Rock Hotel again as the kids really enjoyed the facilities the last time we were there. This time, my parents, brothers and sister joined us as well.

It was the beginning of the school holidays so the resort was a full house. But still, I really like the theme of the hotel. Raidi is taking his UPSR exam next year so consider this as the last hurrah before we send him to 'jail'. Anyway, we all had a rockin time. I had a bad migraine the first night as I was really exhausted after my stressful trip to Jakarta the day before.

sempat bergambar dengan Amy Search...

Raidi memang berani. He insisted to try this.

One tweet at a time...

Alhamdulillah. We were in the The Star (Metro) newspaper yesterday. Front page coverage! I suggested last month that we submit an article to the newspaper. Instead the reporter contacted us first to write the story. Very timely since we'll be one year old soon. I told the reporter to come back in 6 months time for a blockbuster story! hehehe

Malaysia Day Parade

No we didn't go to Merdeka Square with other fellow Malaysians to celebrate Malaysia Day. Instead we were at home waiting for the ATM, PDRM and Maritim choppers to fly over TTDI's airspace. It seems that this part of KL is oftenly used by the army/authorities air unit as their 'holding' area before they head towards Dataran Merdeka. Below are some of the pictures I took with the zoom lense. Selamat Hari Malaysia (post ISA)!

Here we go!!

The BPL season is back! The new generation MU is looking very good. Perhaps the club will grow from strength to strength at least in the next decade. With the new 'engine room', the team plays a very fluid and fast football game. We'll see how these young lads cope with the hustle and bustle of the english league.

Bye-bye Paul Scholes..*should have bid for this item*

MU new no 7?? Hehe..Met Robbo and Andy Cole during a charity dinner organised by TM & MU Foundation in KL. Will blog about it soon. I owe you a blog entry Izlyn :p

Sarah Umairah Aqiqah Ceremony

Sarah's Aqiqah went well. It was raining in the afternoon, but in the end, everything was done according to plan. Glad that we decided to do this at Mak's place. Kalau buat dekat Aminuddin Baki, alamat kena pasang khemah semua!

Welcome to the world Sarah!

Say hello to Sarah Umairah. She was born on the 14th of May, about two months earlier than schedule. Yeah, the 3rd prem baby in the family!

Alhamdulillah Sarah is doing well today. She was discharged from the hospital after 37 days at Pantai's NICU. Ayu came back home earlier and she felt lonely at home. So we visited the little baby girl every single day.

We've been through this before (with Raidi and Zidani) so I made sure that she got the best treatment available at the hospital. NICU can be quite an intimidating place especially for first time parents.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hospital staff especially Doctor Chai for taking care of the baby. To those who visited us at the hospital, thanks for coming.

To Zidani and Raidi, now you have a little sister to look after!

This NICU ward was Sarah's temporary home for a month...

Father's Day Treat..

My father, brother and son posing...

For Father's Day this year, I decided to give my dad the experience of piloting a plane. Dulu dia suka main remote control. Yang ini boleh cuba rasa terbang sendiri. So I requested @jfkjohan to take him on a tour over KL city. Told my brother Husni and my son Raidi to go along with dad.

They were the first flight out and glad that the weather was good for flying. Johan said that my dad was 'over the moon' during the whole session. Told him that my dad is always 'over the moon'. Haha!

Somewhere over TTDI I think...

Raidi's 11th Birthday Party

We celebrated Raidi's birtday at the bowling alley. He invited all his classmates and I think almost everyone came. Raidi specificaly asked for an 'Iron Man' character birthday cake. Watch the video below to find out why.

I can't remember how many bowling games I paid for that day. Semua ikut suka hati tambah game. Macam bowling buffet. Takpa. Birthday party. Exception.

Bandung trip.

View from the restaurant....
View from the hotel lounge..

view from the hotel room..

Just got back from Bandung for client's workshop. Stayed at the same hotel I went last month. I love it there! Far away from the city 'distraction'.

This time i brought my DSLR. Started to take pictures as soon as I arrived. More pictures here...

Cuti-cuti Malaysia...

Last CNY we stayed at the Legend Int'l Water Chalet, Port Dickson. I dont know why, but if I go to a hotel, I just want to stay in the room. Room service must be good. If the room comes with attached swimming pool, that's even better! Next time I'll bring along the bicycle. I want to cycle in the swimming pool. Hahaha.

Now I can Fly..

Almost a year I was 'grounded'. Today's flight to Bandung was pretty dramatic for my part. Nervous, anxious and afraid that anything bad could happen to me. I was admitted to the hospital last year due to pneumothorax (lung puncture). The doctor advised me not to fly until I'm fully recovered. Alhamdulillah, so far so good.

Now I'm blogging from Bandung and i'll be here for the next 6 hrs at least. Will be on a road trip to Jakarta for a meeting tomorrow morning. Love the hotel that I'm staying. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

C172 landing approach - Runway 15 Subang (HD)

Took this video with the new Nikon 3100 DSLR. An entry level DSLR that comes with 1080p Full HD video format. I should have practised more before the flight. Try watching this video in HD. Not a problem if you have Unifi.

Subang-KLCC-Batu Caves-Subang

Twitter made this possible. When I followed @jfkjohan on twitter months ago, I didn't realised that he's actually a neighbor. He lives two doors away from our house and after all these years, I actually met him for the first time last Sunday! Bagus punya jiran. Who said twitter is bad :p

I love flight simulators ever since I was a kid. When I read Johan tweets on taking friends on a tour over KL city and learn how to fly, I booked a slot straight away. Always wanted to do this, especially in KL. Water landing in Australia last year was great. But flying from Subang to KLCC and back to Subang over TTDI was very special. The whole experience made me think twice about doing my MBA. Perhaps I should pursue the PPL license instead. Hehe.

Johan and me..Raidi supposed to come along but he was at the scouts camp

At 0845hrs, we took off from Subang on a Cessna172 airplane. Weather was fine but you know la, jerebu in KL. Take off was smooth after hitting 75 knots. We climbed up to 1500 feet as we turned left towards Menara TM. Once the plane levelled, Johan handed over the control to me. First time in my life I took control of a real aircraft! Feeling was quite close to driving a car only that you don't have traffic to worry about. Tak payah pakai hon. Maintain the right altitude and speed. Roll left, right, pitch down or upwards. Best!!

View of Kampung Baru..

Dividing my attention between photography and flying was a challenge. I wanted to fly the plane, but I also have this new DSLR on my lap. Haiya! So when we reached KL city, Johan flew a circle around KLCC and I took pictures. Very nice view of KL city from high above.

No Garmin or Papago...
From KL city, we flew over the new Palace, Batu Caves, TTDI, Kota Damansara waypoints before heading back to Subang for landing. Downwind leg was interesting. Just before the 45 degree left turn to Subang runway 15, both of us looked right to check for any incoming air traffic. Hahaha. Macam dekat junction jalan. Takut Firefly nak landing maaa.

Johan landed the plane smoothly. Memang terror pilot ni. Since he's also a DJ at hitz.fm, inflight entertainment comes exclusively. Haha! Thanks bro for the opportunity. Will definitely do this again one day!

More pictures here.

This is from one of Johan's tweet. Ning Baizura as co-pilot.

Not yet a captain...

Nak drive ke nak take pictures...susah!
I took this picture while Johan flew a circle around KLCC
